Tracy Wheeler
Tracy Wheeler was a beloved daughter, mother, sister, family member, and friend who embodied the true essence of sisterhood. She was a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Eta Zeta Chapter based in Louisville, Kentucky.
Tracy was a trailblazer and visionary. After graduating from Northern Kentucky University (NKU) in 1997, Tracy pledged Zeta Phi Beta, Sorority, Inc, through the Pi Sigma Zeta Chapter in Forest Park, Ohio. At the time there wasn’t an undergraduate Zeta chapter at NKU. Tracy was determined to uplift the women on NKU's campus, while giving guidance and encouraging them to charter an undergraduate chapter at NKU - Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Alpha Rho Chapter pulled into the station! This chapter continues to thrive today—a lasting testament to Tracy’s dedication, perseverance and commitment to the sisterhood.
Tracy loved connecting with people and bringing them together through laughter and music. She LOVED to sing and held several positions in her church and community. Tracy also enjoyed serving others through volunteer service projects and outreach. Her smile and energy were infectious to everyone blessed to meet her.
We honor Tracy’s legacy through scholarship and celebration, ensuring her contributions and spirit live on.

Precious Leshay Johnson
Precious Johnson made pursuing higher education a priority in life, which was made possible through the generosity of multiple scholarships. She graduated from Butler High School in 1993 and attended Western Kentucky University to pursue a nursing degree. During her time at Western Kentucky University, Precious Johnson became a parent in 1994 and transferred back to Louisville to continue her passion for nursing. She enrolled in Jefferson Community College and received her Associate of Science in 1999. She then attended the University of Louisville, receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing in 2000. Precious continued with higher education and soon after, received her Master of Education in Human Resources in 2004.
Precious did not allow life’s circumstances to keep her from pursuing her academic dreams. She was determined to leave a legacy for her children. As a young mother, she relentlessly pursued educational opportunities. In her lifetime, she used her degree in several positions, including as a Registered Nurse, a Case Manager for Humana, an adjunct Professor at ATA College, and a consultant for Medical Management Corporation. Precious is a shining example of a budding young mother who was resilient, goal-orientated, and willing to dream and work hard. It is with pleasure that the Precious Leshay Johnson Nursing Scholarship is offered to young mothers who, like Precious Johnson, have a passion for pursuing a nursing degree and providing a legacy for their child(ren).
